PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP GAYA

The objectives of this class action research are: to improve the force concept mastery in Science subject by applying the contextual learning model in the IV graders of SD Negeri Tenggak 3 Sidoharjo Sragen in the school year of 2010/2011. The study belongs to a classroom action research using two cycles. Each cycle consist of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of research was the IV graders of SD Negeri Tenggak 3 of Sidoharjo subdistrict of Sragen Regency. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, document study, test and interview. Technique of analyzing data used was an interactive model analysis one consisting of three components of analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. Considering the result of research, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of force concept mastery after the implementation of classroom action research by applying the contextual learning model. It can be seen from the mean class value increasing from the prior value of 57.58 to 69.91 in cycle I and to 77.88 in cycle II. The students who pass the learning successfully (passing score of 65) in prior value is 8 students or 33.33%, in cycle I 20 students or 83.3%, and after the reflection 4 students do not pass successfully (the quiz scores are below 65), but overall their learning achievement increases viewed from the percentage of student passing, and in the cycle II tests it increase to 91.67% or there are two students who do not pass successfully.Considering the result of research, it can be concluded that by the application of contextual learning model can improve the force concept mastery in IV graders of SD Negeri Tenggak 3 Sidoharjo Sragen in the school year of 2010/2011.
