PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SIFAT-SIFAT CAHAYA MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LOGAN AVENUE PROBLEM SOLVING (LAPS) – HEURISTIK

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to improve the understanding of light characteristic concept through the use of Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristic learning model of the student in 5^th grade State Primary School Kerten II, Surakarta academic year 2015/2016. This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the 5^th grade students of State Primary School Kerten II as many as 21 students (13 male and 8 female). The data sources of the research were teacher and students. Data collection techniques were through observation, interview, documentation, and test. The data validity used were source triangulation, method triangulation, and item validity. The data analysis using analysis interactive and the technique of comparative descriptive. Teh results of the research showed the achievement of understanding of light characteristic concept the student in 5^th grade State Primary School Kerten II, value of understanding of light characteristic concept in the pre-action is 55 with completeness percentage amount to 28,57%. On the first cycle, the average value increased amount to 73,36 with completeness percentage amount to 76,19%. On th second cycle, the average value increased amount to 79 with completeness percentage amount to 90,48%. The conclusion of this research is the use of Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristic can improve the understanding of light characteristic concept of students in 5^th grade State Primary School Kerten II Surakarta academic year 2015/2016.

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya melalui model pembelajaran Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristik pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Kerten II Surakarta tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Kerten II yang berjumlah 21 siswa (13 siswa laki-laki dan 8 siswa perempuan). Sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Validitas data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber, triangulasi metode, dan validitas butir soal. Analisis datanya menggunakan analisis interaktif dan analisis deskriptif komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tercapainya pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya siswa kelas V SD Negeri Kerten II tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang dibuktikan dari peningkatan nilai pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya. Hasil rata-rata pratindakan mengenai pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya adalah 55 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 28,57%. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 73,36 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 76,19%. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 79 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 90,48%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Kerten II Surakarta tahun ajaran 2015/2016.
