Abstract


The value of character education contained in literary works is very much found, especially novels. Along with the emergence of many new novels that are very significant, Pesantren Impian novels are one of them that offers various forms of character education values. The purpose of this study is to describe the value of hard work character education in the novel Pesantren Impian by Asma Nadia. The research method used in this study uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques in this study used reading and note taking techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive techniques. The results in this study are two criteria that indicate hard work attitude. Form criteria (1) if the work he does is not finished, he feels worried, (2) able to manage time well. The value of character education contained in the novel shows that whatever we want, we must try to get it without hurting our parents.
