Abstract


The research aims to explain and describe (1) the form of cultural studies of Indonesian Language textbooks X-grade in Senior High Schools; (2) contents of cultural studies of Indonesian Language textbooks X-grade in Senior High Schools; (3) the relevance of culture as a medium for teaching and learning materials of Indonesian Language textbooks in Senior High School. The method use in this research is descriptive qualitative. The result of the research indicates the result of the research cultural studies of textbooks Indonesian based on the type of text includes cultural studies in the genre of literary and non-literary text. While cultural studies based on their contents, there is a diversity of local cultures in Indonesia. Next, the relevance of cultural studies in Indonesian textbooks includes text book that can develop students character in accordance with national culture and can provide students with the talent and potential needs of students. The results this study also show that the study of local culture can be used as teaching materials for of textbooks Indonesian Language in Senior High School.
