Abstract


Abstract: Mathematics with the subject matter "Comparing Fractions" in class III Lerep State Elementary School 04 Ungaran Barat District, Semarang Regency shows an unsatisfactory achievement, this is realized from the formative test results that have not reached the completion limit. It was evident from 25 students who scored
70 and above as many as 8 students, while 17 students scored below 70. Because learning had not been successfully considered incomplete, the researchers tried to solve these problems by holding learning through PTK to improve skills in basic math learning discussion "Comparing Fractions" by using number lines and repetitive training methods in third grade students of Lerep State Elementary School 04 Ungaran Barat District Semarang District by using number lines in two cycles Class action research was carried out at SD Negeri Lerep 04 District Ungaran Barat Semarang District subjects mathematics is carried out in 2 cycles. In class III students in the 2015/2016 academic year, there were 25 students. The state of the student's level of pretest characteristics is different, there is a high achievement there is a medium, and some are low. Parents' backgrounds are also different - there are different farmers, laborers, traders, and factory employees. Because the activities of parents are erratic sometimes leave early in the morning (the child has not woken up), and go home late in the evening (parents are tired) so parents are lazy to guide children's learning. After a thorough reflection with the improvement of actions taken in the second cycle can be concluded there is an increase in student learning
completeness from pre cycle to cycle II. The cause of the increase was due to the use of number line media in learning. The conclusion that the use of number media can improve the mathematics achievement of third grade students of Lerep State Elementary School 04 Semester II in the 2015/2016 academic year.
