Abstract


The purpose of this research is to describe: (1) The character values contained in the Battle of Ambarawa struggle. (2) Learning planning related to character values in the Battle of Ambarawa struggle to be used as a strengthening of character education in high school in Indonesian History subjects.

This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The sources of data from this study are informants and documents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection technique uses two techniques, namely: interviews and document analysis. The data validity technique used was the data triangulation technique and methods. The data analysis technique used was data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.

Based on the research results, it can be concluded: (1) The character values contained in the Ambarawa Battle as one of the local histories in Semarang Regency include the values of hard work, democracy, love for the country and social care. (2) The lesson plan for SMA Negeri 1 Ambarawa, SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa and SMA Virgo Fidelis Bawen have inserted the character values of the Battle of Ambarawa as strengthening character education even though they are not written in detail in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) of Indonesian History. There are differences in RPP components between the three schools, SMA Negeri 1 Ambarawa and SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa use the one-sheet RPP format, while SMA Virgo Fidelis Bawen still maintains the old RPP format with many pages.
