PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE SNOWBALL THROWING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR STRUKTUR BUMI

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to improve the learning result in Natural Science with the topic of discussion of Earth Structure through the application of the cooperative learning model of the Snowball Throwing type of the students in Grade V of State Primary School of Ngadiroyo, Nguntoronadi sub-district, Wonogiri regency in Academic Year 2012/2013. This research used the classroom action research method with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students in Grade V of State Primary School of Ngadiroyo, Nguntoronadi sub-district, Wonogiri regency as many as 16 students. The data of the research were gathered from the class teacher and the students. The data were validated by using the data and method triangulations. They were then analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis. Based on the result of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the application of the cooperative learning model of the Snowball Throwing type can improve the learning result in Natural Science with the topic of discussion of Earth Structure of the students in Grade V of State Primary School of Ngadiroyo in Academic Year 2012/2013.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA tentang Struktur Bumi dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Ngadiroyo Kecamatan Nguntoronadi Kabupaten Wonogiri. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri Ngadiroyo, Nguntoronadi, Wonogiri tahun ajaran 2013 yang berjumlah 16 siswa. Prosedur penelitian adalah menggunakan model siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi data dan metode. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA tentang struktur bumi pada siswa kelas V SDN Ngadiroyo tahun ajaran 2012/2013.
