PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of this research was to improve the ability to solve story problem by using Realistic Mathematic Education  learning model on the fifth grade students of the state elementary school of Pajang IV Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018. The type of the research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was done in two cycles. Each cycle was carried out through planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are the teacher and the students on the fifth grade students of the state elementary school of Pajang IV Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018. The data collecting technique were observation,  interview,  test,  and  documentation.  The  data  validity  were  content  validity,  triangulation  of resource, and triangulation of technique. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis model (Milles & Huberman) consisted  of  four  steps,  namely:  data  collection, data  reduction, data  display,  and  conclusion drawing. The result of the research showed that in precycle the average score of ability to solve the story problem is 63 with the class completeness was 23,08% that could reach KKM (≥75). In the first cycle, the average score of ability to solve the story problem was increased to 80,23 with the class completeness was

76,92%. In second cycle the average of ability to solve the story problem was increased up to 85.37 with  the class completeness was 92,31%. The conclusion of the research was the use of  the Realistic Mathematic Education  learning model could improve the ability to solve the story problem on the fifth grade students of the state elementary school of Pajang IV Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018.

 

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education  pada siswa kelas V di salah satu SD Negeri di Surakarta tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini berbentuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan selama dua  siklus.  Setiap  siklus  dilaksanakan melalui  kegiatan  perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan,  observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu guru dan siswa kelas V di salah satu SD Negeri di Surakarta tahun ajaran

2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik uji validitas data menggunakan validitas isi,  triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data yang

digunakan  yaitu  model  analisis  interaktif  (Milles  &  Huberman)  yang  terdiri  dari  empat  tahapan  yaitu

pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pratindakan nilai rata-rata kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita siswa sebesar 63 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 23,08 % yang dapat mencapai KKM (≥75). Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita meningkat menjadi 80,26 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 76,92%. Pada siklus II rata-rata kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita siswa meningkat menjadi 85,37 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 92,31%. Simpulan penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita pada siswa kelas V salah satu SD di Surakarta tahun ajaran 2017/2018
