Abstract


Abstract: The learning process quality and result quality of description essay writing skills the third grade students of SD Negeri Setono 95 Surakarta is still low. The purpose of this research was to improve the learning process quality and result quality of description essay writing skills through concept sentence learning model with roll the can media. The research was a classroom action research conducted of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were the third grade students of SD Negeri Setono 95 Surakarta as many as 32 students. The data and data of this research were gathered from the teacher and the students of third grade SD Negeri Setono No. 95 Surakarta. The data collecting techniques were test, observation, interview, and documentation. The data validity used content validity and technique triangulation. The analyze data used interactive model. The research result indicate average score of class before action is 57.2 with the minimum learning completeness of 12.5%. Following the treatment, the class average scores become 66,5 with the minimum learning completenees of 40.6% in Cycle I. The class average scores increased become 84,6 with the minimum learning completeness of 90.6% in Cycle II. Based on the results of the analysis, it could be concluded that: using concept sentence model and roll the can media can improve the learning process quality and result quality of description essay writing skills the third grade students of SD Negeri Setono 95 Surakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017.

 

Abstrak: Kualitas proses pembelajaran dan kualitas hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas III SD Negeri Setono No. 95 Surakarta masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan kualitas hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Roll The Can. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III SD Negeri Setono 95 Surakarta yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Sumber data dan data berasal dari guru dan siswa kelas III SD Negeri Setono No. 95 Surakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu model interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan nilai rata-rata kelas pratindakan sebesar 57.2 dengan persentase ketercapaian kelas 12.5%. Skor rata-rata kelas pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 66.5 dengan persentase ketercapaian 40.6%. Skor rata-rata kelas pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 84,6 dengan persentase ketercapaian kelas sebesar 90.6%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa: melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Roll The Can dapat meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan kualitas hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri Setono No. 95 Surakarta tahun ajaran 2016/2017.
