Abstract


The objectives of  this research are  to  investigate: (1)  the correlation between  the use of internet  and  the  learning  achievement  of  the  students  in  Grade  X  of  Vocational  High School  Muhammadiyah  1  of  Sragen  in  Academic  Year  2012/2013;  (2)  the  correlation
between  the  learning  activeness  in  peer  group  and  the  learning  achievement  of  the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Muhammadiyah 1 of Sragen in Academic Year 2012/2013; and (3) the correlation of the use of internet and the learning activeness in peer group to the  learning achievement of the students in Grade X of Vocational High
School Muhammadiyah  1  of Sragen  in Academic Year  2012/2013.  This  research  used the  descriptive  quantitative  method.  The  population  of  the  research  was  all  of  the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Muhammadiyah 1 of Sragen in Academic Year 2012/2013 as many as 264 students. The samples of the research consisted of 145 students, and they were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed by using the multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research are  as  follows:  (1)  there  is  a  correlation  between  the  use  of  internet  and  the  learning
achievement of  the students  in Grade X of Vocational High School Muhammadiyah 1 of Sragen  in Academic Year 2012/2013 as  indicated by  the value of rcount = 0.420 >  that of rtable  =  0.1371  at  the  significance  level  of  5%;  (2)  there  is  a  correlation  between  the
learning activeness in peer group and the learning achievement of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Muhammadiyah 1 of Sragen  in Academic Year 2012/2013 as shown by the value of rcount = 0.413 > that of rtable = 0.1371 at the significance level of 5%;  and  (3)  there  is  a  simultaneous  correlation  of  the  use  of  internet  and  the  learning activeness  in  peer  group  to  the  learning  achievement  of  the  students  in  Grade  X  of Vocational  High  School Muhammadiyah  1  of  Sragen  in  Academic  Year  2012/2013  as signified by  the value of Fcount = 30.986 >  that of Ftable = 3.06 at  the significance  level of
5%. The multiple linear regression is Ŷ = 51.211 + 0.454 X1 + 0.210 X2. The value of the simultaneous contribution of  the  independent variables  to  the dependent variable  (R2) = 0.304.  The  relative  contribution  of  the  use  of  internet  to  the  learning  achievement  is 50.86%, and that of the learning activeness in peer group to the learning achievement is
49.14%. The effective contribution of  the use of  internet  to  the learning achievement  is 15.45%,  and  that  of  the  learning  activeness  in  peer  group  to  the  learning  achievement is14.93%.
