Abstract


The purpose of this study is: to describe the improvement of students' potential development skills through
coaching for classroom teachers of Jono 2 Public Elementary School, TawangharjoSubdistrict, Grobogan Regency
in the first semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The subject of this study was a teacher at SD Negeri 2 Jono,
Tawangharjo District, Grobogan Regency. This research was conducted for 3 months starting from August to
October 2016 at SDN 2 Jono, TawangharjoSubdistrict, Grobogan Regency. Data were analyzed by descriptive
analysis. Descriptive analysis was carried out to give an overview of the results achieved by the teacher after the
action was carried out on all the centers of attention in the study including aspects of teacher skills in understanding
and developing the potential of students. Based on the analysis and discussion of data from the results of the study it
can be concluded that: Through the development of potential development skills of students for classroom teachers
of Jono 2 Public Elementary School, Tawangharjo District, Grobogan Regency in the first semester of the
2016/2017 school year increased. The increase occurred in: 1) the aspect of assessing the ability of teachers to
understand and develop the potential of students from pre-cycle activities to cycle II experienced an average
increase of 52.09%, with the lowest achievement in the aspect of how the teacher followed up learning by 40%, and
the highest increase in aspects of the way teachers motivate students to ask questions about matters related to the
topic discussed, with an increase of 60% .2) While individually the lowest increase by grade 2 teachers, with an
increase of 45.00%, while an increase highest by grade 3 teachers, with an increase of 57.50%
