POLA PERILAKU KONSUMTIF GURU BERSERTIFIKASI DAN IMPLIKASINYA BAGI PENINGKATAN KUALITAS PENDIDIKAN
This article showed that the meaning of teacher competence is diverse. First, the competence of teachers should be interpreted as a process towards the professionalism of teachers so that the achievement of competence is not directly achieved. Second, the criteria of teacher competence should be reviewed, especially the burden of teaching 24 credits. Third, teacher competence is not positively correlated to the improvement of education quality in Indonesia because there is a trend increase in teachers' incomes are not necessarily used for teacher professional development but tend to personal needs which result in a consumptive lifestyle. The existence of dealers motorcycles/cars, supermarkets/malls, and advertising of certain products which are spread in the city of Surakarta became a significant factor shift in lifestyle of a teacher.
