Abstract


SINGGIH PRIHADI: The Development of Instructional Multimedia of Remote
Sensing to Increase Spatial Intellegence for the Student of Senior High School.
This research was aimed at developing good and effective multimedia for
remote sensing in Senior High Schools of Surakarta.
The research was conducted in Senior High Schools in Surakarta by using
a research and development study. Subjects of the research were students in class
XII of the senior high school The research was conducted in four steps, covering:
(1) need analysis, (2) development of instructional design, (3) development of
product design, (4) product evaluation and implementation of the product. The
product was validated by one expert in multimedia and one expert in materials.
Fourty-five students were involved in the product tryout in which 3 students were
invelued in the one-to-one evaluation, 12 students in small-group evaluation and
30 sudents in field-trial evaluation. Data of the research were gained from expert
evaluation validation sheet of the instructional media and materials, and the
students feedback of the media, particularly in the learning aspect of its
operational intelligibility, intelligibility of content to learn, and interesting layout
and program. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative technique.
Results of the research reveal that: (a) the quality of multimedia was good
regarding the aspect of content and efficacy, (b) the quality of instruction was
very good regarding the aspect of layout, operation, navigation and efficacy, (c)the quality of multimedia was very good regarding the aspects of the inteligibility
of product operation, product instuction content and layout. It also implies that
the multimedia of remote sensing for the students of Senior Schools of Surakarta
is eligible to be used as learning resources.
